ABOUT US

Kabochacon is dedicated to celebrating and creating an appreciation for Japanese pop-culture though animation, manga, games and other medias. We also cater to other pop-cultures such as American/European shows, games, & comics. Our goal is to bring fans together within a safe and entertaining atmosphere in the Dayton and surrounding area.

What inspired the start of Kabochacon?

At the time there were no conventions in Dayton, but we knew many con goers from the Dayton area whose only option was to go up to Columbus if not farther. We wanted to create something local that could be enjoyed locally as well as by those farther away.

What does Kabochacon mean?

In Japan kabocha means a winter squash, and as we aim for the month of October/Halloween it seemed more than appropriate to create Kabocha-con.

What’s the best part of running Kabochacon?

Seeing our attendees having fun and enjoying themselves in a safe environment. That’s what it’s all about.
